Job Description

As we continue to expand, we are seeking a driven and strategic Treasury and Payroll Specialist to join our team. 


Responsibilities:


Treasury:

  • Monitor daily bank balances and prepare cash-position reports.
  • Maintain short- and medium-term cash-flow forecasts.
  • Prepare supplier, salary, tax, and other payments for approval.
  • Ensure payments are supported by appropriate documentation and authorization.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and promptly investigate discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of banking transactions, facilities, loans, deposits, and related charges.
  • Coordinate with banks regarding transfers, account administration, foreign-exchange transactions, and banking queries.
  • Monitor upcoming financial obligations to ensure sufficient funds are available.
  • Assist with the management of working capital and foreign-currency exposure.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Prepare treasury schedules and reports for management and auditors.
  • Maintain effective controls over online banking access and payment processes.

Payroll:

  • Prepare and process monthly payroll accurately and within the required deadlines.
  • Review employee attendance, overtime, leave, allowances, commissions, bonuses, deductions, and other payroll inputs.
  • Maintain accurate employee payroll records, including new joiners, salary changes, promotions, transfers, and leavers.
  • Calculate final salaries and other payments due to departing employees.
  • Ensure payroll deductions and employer contributions comply with applicable legislation and company policies.
  • Prepare and submit payroll-related statutory returns and payments by the relevant deadlines.
  • Reconcile payroll reports to the general ledger and investigate any differences.
  • Prepare salary payment files and supporting schedules for review and approval.
  • Issue payslips and respond professionally to employee payroll queries.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources and Finance to verify payroll information.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and protect personal and payroll information.
  • Assist with payroll audits and provide supporting documentation when required.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations, employment legislation, tax requirements, and internal policies.


Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Accounting or payroll certification would be an advantage.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in treasury, payroll, accounting, or a similar finance role.
  • Practical experience processing payroll and performing bank reconciliations.
  • Experience using accounting, payroll, and online banking systems.
  • Good knowledge of payroll calculations, statutory deductions, and basic accounting principles.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, reconciliations, and data analysis.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to meet strict payroll and payment deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and reconciliation skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with Finance, Human Resources, banks, and other stakeholders.
