C-Care Hospitals & Clinics Mauritius is currently looking for a Housekeeping Supervisor.
Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, the Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day housekeeping operations at C-Care Wellkin Hospital, ensuring a consistently clean, hygienic, safe, and well-maintained environment for patients, visitors, and employees. The role provides operational supervision to the housekeeping team, ensuring effective staff deployment, adherence to cleaning and hygiene standards, proper use of equipment and cleaning products, and compliance with hospital policies and procedures. The Housekeeping Supervisor will also monitor service quality, address operational issues, support staff training and development, and work closely with other hospital departments to maintain high standards of cleanliness and patient experience.
What you will be doing:
- Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the housekeeping team across the hospital.
- Ensure all hospital areas, including patient rooms, corridors, offices, public areas, and other designated spaces, are maintained to the required standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Allocate duties, prepare work schedules, and ensure adequate staff coverage across all shifts.
- Conduct regular inspections to monitor housekeeping standards and take corrective action where required.
- Ensure cleaning procedures are carried out in accordance with hospital hygiene, infection prevention, and safety standards.
- Monitor the proper use, storage, and availability of cleaning products, equipment, and supplies.
- Ensure housekeeping staff are properly trained on cleaning procedures, equipment usage, health and safety requirements, and hospital protocols.
- Supervise staff attendance, punctuality, grooming, discipline, and overall performance.
- Address operational issues, staff concerns, and service-related complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Coordinate with Nursing, Facilities, Infection Prevention and Control, and other departments to ensure housekeeping requirements are effectively addressed.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of housekeeping checklists, audits, quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist the Executive Housekeeper with reporting, audits, staff evaluations, investigations, and other administrative duties.
- Promote a professional, respectful, and service-oriented approach among the housekeeping team, with a strong focus on patient safety and experience.
- Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and applicable health and safety requirements.

Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Housekeeper.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma or Certificate in Hospitality Management, Housekeeping, Facilities Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in housekeeping, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or team leader role.
- Previous experience in a hospital, healthcare, hotel, or similar environment will be considered an advantage.
- Good knowledge of cleaning procedures, hygiene standards, infection prevention and control, and safe handling of cleaning products and equipment.
- Experience in supervising and coordinating housekeeping teams across different shifts.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Good leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide team members.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, visitors, employees, and other hospital departments.
- Ability to handle operational issues and complaints professionally and promptly.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to maintain housekeeping records, checklists, and reports.
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements will be an advantage.
- Flexible and willing to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and according to operational requirements.
- Proactive, reliable, disciplined, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
