Job Description

C-Care Hospitals & Clinics Mauritius is currently looking for a Security Manager.

Reporting to the Head of Facilities, the Security Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all security operations at C-Care Wellkin Hospital, ensuring a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, employees, and hospital assets. The role provides strategic and operational leadership to the security team, ensuring the effective implementation of security policies, procedures, access control measures, incident management, emergency preparedness, and risk mitigation initiatives. 

What you will be doing:

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day security operations of the hospital.
  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate the security team to ensure effective coverage across all areas of the hospital.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor security policies, procedures, and protocols in line with hospital standards and applicable requirements.
  • Ensure effective access control and monitor the movement of staff, patients, visitors, contractors, and vehicles within the hospital premises.
  • Conduct regular security risk assessments and recommend appropriate measures to mitigate identified risks.
  • Manage and investigate security incidents, breaches, complaints, and emergencies, ensuring timely reporting and appropriate follow-up.
  • Coordinate emergency response procedures and support the hospital’s emergency preparedness and business continuity initiatives.
  • Monitor CCTV surveillance systems and ensure security equipment and systems are properly maintained and operational.
  • Liaise with relevant internal departments, external security service providers, law enforcement agencies, and other stakeholders when required.
  • Ensure adequate security staffing, duty rosters, attendance, deployment, and performance monitoring.
  • Conduct regular security inspections and audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with established procedures.
  • Provide training, coaching, and guidance to security personnel on hospital security procedures, customer service, emergency response, and incident management.
  • Ensure that security personnel maintain a professional, respectful, and service-oriented approach when interacting with patients, visitors, and employees.
  • Prepare and submit regular security reports, incident reports, statistics, and recommendations to the Head of Facilities.
  • Monitor the performance of outsourced security services and ensure compliance with contractual requirements and agreed service standards.
  • Collaborate with the Facilities and other hospital departments on safety, security, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of vigilance, safety, and accountability throughout the hospital.
  • Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Facilities.
Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Security Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in security management, preferably within a hospital, healthcare, hospitality, or similarly complex environment.
  • Strong knowledge of security procedures, access control, CCTV monitoring, incident management, emergency response, and risk assessment.
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety, emergency preparedness, and security best practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgement when handling emergencies, conflicts, and sensitive situations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and comfortable preparing security reports and maintaining relevant records.
