The United Basalt Products Ltd is seeking to recruit Steel/Metal Workers / Welders for its Engineering Department’s Steel Works Section. The recruit may have to travel to other sites and may not be solely based at Geoffroy Road, Bambous, depending on the business and clients’ needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·        Perform maintenance activities on stone crushing equipment to avoid operational failures

·        Carry out several day-to-day activities, including reading and understanding of blueprints

·        Perform upgrading and fabrication of equipment according to blueprints while also carrying out welding

·        Steel Manufacturing/Fabrication Works

·        Boiler Making - Sheet Metal Working

·        Structural Steel Working

·        Preparation Works, Assembling and Fitting-up Works

·        Welding

·        Survey and Inspection

·        Attend to repair, manufacturing and erection works

·        Reading drawings and taking measurements

·        Ability to estimate / prepare materials and tools prior to performing jobs

·        Ability to identify malfunctions and propose recommendations

·        Dismantling, Re-assembly, Installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment and systems

·        Personal commitment and adherence to company policy towards quality, safety, health, and environment and ensure that subordinates adhere to the above-mentioned policies.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

·        Minimum Form III

·        NTC2 or equivalent

·        At least 1 to 2 years’ experience in boiler making and welding

·        Valid Driving Licence

·        Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, documents, blueprints, diagrams, and manuals

·        Detect, Investigate, Analyze, and Provide Recommendations for problems observed to ensure appropriate corrective actions

·        Problem-Solving Attitudes and Skills (Challenge Status-Quo)

·        Good Knowledge in Mechanical/Steel Fabrication/Manufacturing Works, Welding Works, Industrial Equipment and Heavy Mechanics, Rigging/Erection and Installation Works

·        Ability to Construct / Repair Equipment with minimum instructions

·        Physical ability to perform outdoor work in a dust exposed environment

·        Willing to work odd/ flexible hours or on a shift system as and when required

·        Good Communication skills

·        Ability to work alone and in a team environment

·        Analytical and Decision-making Skills

·        Focused, Passionate, Self-Driven, with “Can-Do” Attitude
