Job Description
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- All staff is expected to follow the rules of the Hotel and meet the employment standards as stated in the Employee Handbook.
- To assist the Chief Engineer in overseeing and coordinating all facilities for heat, light and power and repairs and maintenance for the Hotel.
- To ensure proper operation of the preventive maintenance system.
- Controls all water treatment equipment, transformers, electrical panels
- Work either through the normal requests via the work order system or from routine checklists which are in operation at the hotel.
- Responsible for completion of all log sheets and work order systems. Ensures all equipment is functioning correctly and preventive maintenance procedures are maintained to approve standards.
- Stands in for Shift ( Day, afternoon or night shift)
- During night shift to change all damage bulbs where accessible.
- Inspect all plants, kitchens, fire installations, refrigeration, sump pumps, fire and domestic water tank levels. Record pertinent data on the log sheets and any defects into the engineering log book.
- Emergency situation shall be notified to the Chief Engineer as soon as possible.
- Carry out inspection of all lighting systems as you move around the hotel
- To assist other Engineering Team Members and other departments on other job duties as may be requested and/or assign from time to time
Requirements:
Minimum Form 4
At least 1 year working experience in the field
NC3 in Electrical
Previous experience in the hotel industry will be an advantage
