Job Description
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Accounts Preparation: Prepare statutory financial accounts for sole traders and limited companies.
- Bank Reconciliation: Review bank reconciliations.
- Trial Balance Management: Review trial balances to ensure absolute accuracy before final reporting.
- Extended Trial Balance: Prepare extended trial balances for year-end adjustments and journals.
- Full Set of Accounts: Deliver complete, audit-ready full sets of accounts independently, for final review.
- Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of clients, act as their primary point of contact, and delegate tasks effectively to balance workloads.
- Team Supervision & Review: Supervise and mentor junior colleagues who handle daily data input, ensuring their initial data entries, bookkeeping, and preliminary tasks are accurate before your review.
- Proactive Deadline Management: Demonstrate a high level of proactiveness in tracking jobs, monitoring team progress, and removing bottlenecks to ensure internal and statutory deadlines are met consistently.
Requirements:
- Qualification: Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or equivalent).
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience working as a Senior Accountant, with proven experience supervising junior colleagues.
- Organisational traits: Strong organisational skills with a proactive approach to managing portfolio.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word. Quickbooks knowledge is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills for communication with clients and to mentor junior colleagues.
