Job Description
Within the Finance Division, the team “Consolidation, IFRS and (Internal) Controls” is responsible for delivering reliable internal and external financial information, ensuring effective and efficient internal finance controls and overseeing compliance of the group with IFRS. The team supports the various finance teams across the group on these subjects. In addition, the team performs various analysis and other projects on an ad hoc basis.
The Group Consolidation Controller (IFRS) is a key member of the team and reports to the Consolidation Manager. Depending on the topic, he or she works either individually or in cooperation, but always with the rest of the team as a sparring partner.
The activities and a (finance) organization continuously “in transformation” result in a very dynamic team, taking up different challenges, close to the heart of the company and with no time to fall into routine operations.
Tasks
Supports the monthly consolidation and reporting process, which includes analyzing reported figures to ensure data consistency throughout the group and assist in the resolution of intercompany reconciliation differences.
Supports managing the set-up of the consolidation tools.
Is involved in monitoring the compliance of the group accounts with IFRS, which includes improving processes, organizing trainings, ...
Supports in the preparation and update of the group finance policies, assists in periodic reviews that ensure compliance with these policies.
Prepare a variety of (ad hoc) financial analyses and presentations, providing information to support management decisions.
Works very closely with all other finance colleagues within the Group (over the different countries) and support them on a number of topics.
Profile
At least 4 years of similar experience in financial accounting or auditing role, experience in consolidation is a big plus.
Good practical knowledge of IFRS.
Demonstrate an interest in finance tools, knowledge of consolidation software (preferably Tagetik) is a plus.
You have affinity with identifying risks and determining suitable internal controls in finance processes.
You are able to build effective working relationships with finance teams across different countries, providing pragmatic guidance and support when needed.
You demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
You have strong Excel skills (including pivot tables, complex formulas and data analysis) and demonstrate a high level of accuracy and professional skepticism.
You possess strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
