🚨 We’re Hiring – Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Officer
At CEAL Ltd, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of Health, Safety and Environment across all our operations. We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Officer to support our continuous improvement journey and strengthen our safety culture.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, implementing effective HSE practices and promoting a safe working environment across our various operations.
Key Responsibilities
The HSE Officer will be responsible for:
- Ensuring full compliance with all Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies, procedures, rules and regulations, and ensuring they are regularly reviewed, updated and effectively communicated.
- Ensuring that CEAL Ltd fulfils all statutory obligations relating to Health, Safety and Environmental requirements at the workplace.
- Conducting regular reviews of risk assessments for work equipment, operational activities and work processes.
- Investigating, documenting and reporting all accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Carrying out regular site inspections, HSE audits and fire drills in accordance with legal requirements and company standards.
- Conducting HSE inductions, toolbox talks, safety awareness campaigns and training sessions for employees.
- Establishing and coordinating Health and Safety Committees at the required intervals in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act 2005.
- Liaising with relevant authorities to obtain and maintain fire certificates, factory registration and other statutory documentation.
- Identifying PPE requirements based on workplace hazards and ensuring timely procurement and distribution to employees.
- Planning and coordinating health surveillance programmes for employees.
- Monitoring HSE performance indicators and promoting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Performing any other related duties assigned by Management.
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate should have:
- A Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Management or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar HSE role.
- Previous experience in the agricultural, construction or workshop environment would be a distinct advantage.
- Good knowledge of the Occupational Safety and Health Act 2005 and applicable HSE regulations.
- Strong communication, organisational and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and interact effectively with employees at all levels.
- A proactive, hands-on and solution-oriented approach.
- A valid driving licence is mandatory.
