Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

To design, implement, maintain, and optimise network infrastructure and security solutions, ensuring the availability, performance, and reliability of network services while supporting customer requirements and organisational objectives. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES     

         i.          Design and build functional networks based on customer specifications, requirements aligned with industry’s standards;

       ii.           Install, configure, upgrade and maintain network equipment – firewalls, routers and switches;

      iii.          Configure site-to-site and remote VPNs;

      iv.          Install, configure, upgrade and maintain IP telephony systems;

        v.          Install, configure, upgrade and maintain virtual networks and appliances;

      vi.          Provide on-call support for network systems as required;

    vii.           To optimize network performance;

  viii.          To implement security measures on network equipment and virtual appliances;

      ix.          Responsible to maintain documentation, checklists, training materials and standards documents on the network topology for customers and internally;

        x.          Develop standards for network systems, to include standards for wiring, firewall security, and routing protocol;

      xi.          Ensure the network infrastructure is available in accordance with services level agreements;

    xii.           Perform Security and Bandwidth Monitoring;

  xiii.          To conduct training for customers and internally;

   xiv.          Research and examine new system advancements and present recommendations for upgrading existing infrastructure;

     xv.          Ensure compliance with all Quality Processes;

   xvi.          Carry out such acts as shall be required for the proper fulfilling of duties listed under items (i) to (xv) above.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE 

·        Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or any other related field from a recognised institution.

·        A minimum of 8 years' relevant experience.

·        Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects, troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, and provide technical guidance to team members.
