Island Communications Ltd (ICL) is currently seeking a motivated and technically-oriented Junior System Implementation Engineer to support the installation, configuration, testing and maintenance of hardware and software systems. The role will contribute to system implementation projects, troubleshooting, server and database management, security maintenance and technical support. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, reliable and comfortable working in a project-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist with the installation and implementation of hardware and software systems.
2. Configure systems and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
3. Support testing, system optimisation and project handovers.
4. Assist with server setup, monitoring, maintenance and updates.
5. Support database operations and queries using SQL or NoSQL.
6. Perform system security maintenance, patching and preventive maintenance.
7. Provide technical support to users and assist with system-related requests.
8. Prepare and maintain technical and functional documentation.
9. Support implementation projects and liaise with clients and vendors when required.
10. Participate in technical training, workshops and team activities.
11. Assist the Technical Solutions Manager with other implementation activities.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or BSc in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a relevant field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role.
• Understanding of servers and databases.
• Knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL.
• Good technical knowledge of hardware and software.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to be mobile.
