To assist the Storekeeper in carrying out the day-to-day store activities, including the handling, movement, placement and organisation of stock, in line with the Company’s procedures and requirements.

What you'll do:

• Assist the Storekeeper in the daily operation and organisation of the store.
• Assist with the receipt, unloading, handling and placement of incoming Raw Materials, finished goods and other materials.
• Carry out stock-in and stock-out activities as instructed by the Storekeeper.
• Ensure that incoming and outgoing materials are properly handled and placed in their designated locations.
• Assist in the movement of materials to and from the store and production areas.
• Ensure that Raw Materials, finished goods and other stock are properly shelved, arranged and stored.
• Assist in maintaining proper stock rotation, including the principle of First In, First Out (FIFO), where applicable.
• Assist the Storekeeper in preparing materials and items for issue to production or dispatch.
• Assist with loading and unloading of goods and materials while ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
• Keep the store and surrounding areas clean, organised and free from obstructions.
• Assist in stock counting, physical inventory checks and reconciliation exercises as instructed by the Storekeeper.
• Report any damaged, missing, misplaced or abnormal stock to the Storekeeper.
• Follow all instructions given by the Storekeeper relating to the handling, storage and movement of materials.
• Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures, particularly those relating to health and safety, housekeeping and proper handling of materials.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and maintain safe working practices at all times.
• Support the Storekeeper in ensuring that store activities are carried out efficiently and within the required timelines.
• Perform any other cognate duty as may be assigned by the Storekeeper or Management.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum School Certificate with a qualification in logistics, warehousing or a related field will be an advantage.
• Previous experience in a store, warehouse, logistics or manufacturing environment will be an advantage.
• Experience in stock handling and/or material handling will be an advantage.

Knowledge & Competencies:

• Basic knowledge of store and stock handling activities.
• Ability to handle and move materials safely.
• Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
• Basic computer literacy will be an advantage.
