WE ARE HIRING: FINANCE OFFICER
EllGeo Re (Mauritius) Limited is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join its Finance team.

The Role
Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, the Finance Officer will support the effective operation of the finance function by ensuring accurate accounting records, timely reporting, sound financial controls and efficient processing of reinsurance transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts and supporting schedules.
- Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements, audit schedules and group consolidation information.
- Assist during internal and external audits
- Process and administer treaty and facultative reinsurance accounts in accordance with contractual terms and conditions.
- Set up treaty and facultative contracts in the relevant systems.
- Review and interpret statements, invoices, credit notes, debit notes and claim notifications received from clients and reinsurance partners.
- Investigate and resolve reconciling items, discrepancies and outstanding balances promptly.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and ensure the proper flow of information through the financial systems.
- Assist with cash-flow monitoring, payment processing, bank reconciliations and collection follow-ups.
- Prepare financial analyses, dashboards and management information for internal reporting.
- Support regulatory, statutory and tax reporting requirements.
- Apply and maintain appropriate internal controls to support accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Contribute to process improvements, system implementations and finance-related projects.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and provide support across the Finance team.
- Perform any other related duties that may reasonably be assigned.
Candidate Profile
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- ACCA qualified, partly qualified or holder of an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- At least three years’ relevant experience in accounting or finance; experience in insurance, reinsurance or financial services would be an advantage.
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and internal controls.
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines and work independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
- High level of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
- Positive team player with a willingness to learn and share knowledge.
