Job Description

The General Construction Company Limited (GCC) is looking for a Timekeeper to support the smooth and efficient administration of our construction sites.

​The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate workforce records, supporting day-to-day site administration, coordinating workers’ requirements, and serving as a key link between the Finance Department, workers, the Site Responsible, and other relevant departments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of workers’ attendance, working hours, overtime, leave and permissions.
  • Assist with payroll preparation by verifying timesheets, overtime, allowances and other workforce-related information.
  • Handle day-to-day site administrative activities, including documentation, filing, record-keeping and reporting.
  • Work closely with the Site Responsible to support workforce coordination and the smooth running of site operations.
  • ​ Act as a key communication point between Finance, workers, site management, and other relevant departments, ensuring that queries and concerns are properly communicated and followed up.  
  • Assist with the onboarding and orientation of new workers joining the site, as and when required.
  • Coordinate workers’ transport, travel and other logistical requirements, when required.
  • Follow up on workers’ requirements relating to tools, PPE, equipment and other site necessities.
  • Prepare and submit attendance, workforce and administrative reports as required.
  • Provide general administrative and operational support to the Site Responsible and undertake other duties assigned by Management.

Ideal Profile

  • Previous experience as a Timekeeper or in a similar position, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Good understanding of attendance, timesheets, overtime and workforce administration.
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with workers, supervisors and management.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and other IT software.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and handle confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a site team.
  • Willingness to work on site and at different project locations, depending on operational requirements.
  • Flexible, proactive and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Knowledge of labor laws, payroll procedures or construction site administration will be an advantage.
