Job Description

The role is responsible to ensure proper treasury analysis, control and monitoring, as well as providing timely and accurate reports to ALCO and the Central Bank. The role is also responsible for the overall management of the day-to-day Treasury Middle Office activities.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Providing necessary reports to support effective balance sheet management, efficient allocation and utilisation of resources.
  • Improving profitability and promoting efficiency in the use of capital and funding by enhancing returns on risk assets.
  • Reviewing and monitoring structural interest rate risk, structural foreign exchange risk, equity-like and fund investments, and liquidity risk, ensuring their prudent management.
  • Monitoring the external environment and assessing its impact on profitability and the balance sheet.
  • Analyzing the interaction between different business lines and balance sheet segments, including transfer pricing, behaviouralisation and resource allocation.
  • Conducting trading and investment performance analysis.
  • Analyzing all Treasury-related GLs and evaluating Treasury Profit and Loss.
  • Carrying out behavioral analysis of all assets and liabilities.
  • Performing independent liquidity and market risk monitoring, measurement, analysis and reporting.
  • Performing tasks as required under the Treasury Control & Monitoring Checklist.
  • Performing necessary controls on all Treasury operations.
  • Ensuring proper reconciliation of currency positions.
  • Supervising junior staff and providing appropriate guidance and support.
  • Ensuring concise, accurate and timely reporting while meeting strict reporting deadlines.
  • Liaising with the Reconciliation Section to review long-pending items on a weekly/monthly basis.
  • Informing the Head of Department of discrepancies and long-outstanding unreconciled entries for appropriate action.

 

 PREREQUISITES:


  • Degree in Banking or Finance from a recognised university, or an alternative qualification from a recognised university in a field of study relevant to the scope of work and acceptable to the Bank.
  • Passes not below Grade C in at least two subjects at Principal Level, obtained on one certificate at Cambridge Higher School Certificate or equivalent.
  • Submission of detailed results of academic qualifications (SC/HSC/Degree).
  • ACI Certificate is mandatory or expected to be completed after onboarding.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in banking, of which at least 5 years’ experience in a Treasury function, including Front Office, Asset and Liability Management or Middle Office.
             SKILLS:

  •  Sound technical knowledge of Treasury products.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information effectively and convincingly at all levels.
  • Strong numerical reasoning ability.
  • Good planning, time management and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Detailed understanding of regulatory guidelines relating to Liquidity and Market Risk.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel modelling capabilities to design appropriate reports.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced, process-driven environment.
