Job Description
The Housekeeping Supervisor assists the Executive/Head Housekeeper in supervising daily housekeeping operations, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, guest service, safety, and team performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise housekeeping operations and ensure guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, pantries, and trolleys meet hotel cleanliness and presentation standards.
- Allocate room assignments, monitor check-outs, VIP rooms, long-stay guests, and special cleaning requirements.
- Inspect rooms and housekeeping areas and ensure all tasks are completed according to schedules and priorities.
- Handle guest requests, feedback, and complaints promptly and coordinate appropriate follow-up.
- Monitor housekeeping supplies, linen, minibar items, amenities, and equipment, including stock levels, inventories, and proper storage.
- Ensure lost property is recorded, secured, and returned appropriately.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and report equipment or facility issues to the relevant department.
- Ensure housekeeping equipment is properly maintained, inspected, and used safely.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, health, safety, fire procedures, and PPE compliance.
- Ensure high-touch point cleaning, periodic cleaning tasks, and housekeeping checklists are completed and recorded.
- Assist with departmental budgeting, cost control, inventories, audits, and overtime management.
- Supervise, train, coach, and motivate housekeeping associates to achieve service and performance standards.
- Prepare staff rosters according to occupancy, productivity, and payroll requirements.
- Monitor attendance, performance, grooming, discipline, and staff development.
- Conduct performance appraisals, identify training needs, and support career development.
- Maintain effective communication and smooth handovers between shifts and departments.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, employee regulations, and applicable employment laws.
- Report accidents, incidents, hazards, and other safety concerns to the appropriate departments.
- Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by the Executive Housekeeper or Management.
