Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day accounting operations of our earthmoving equipment sales business, ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process supplier invoices and customer receipts.
  • Prepare and issue sales invoices and credit notes.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, customer accounts, and supplier statements.
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records in the accounting system.
  • Prepare VAT/tax-related schedules and support statutory reporting.
  • Assist with monthly and year-end closing activities.
  • Monitor petty cash and expense claims.
  • Coordinate with the sales and service departments regarding financial documentation.
  • Support external auditors and management with financial reports.
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 2 years of hand-on accounting experience.
  • Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience in the construction, heavy equipment, automotive, or machinery industry is an advantage.
