Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced
Industrial Electromechanical Technician to join our operations in a distillation plant. The successful
candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance,
troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and electromechanical systems across
our industrial facility. This role demands a proactive professional who can
work independently, respond swiftly to breakdowns, and uphold the highest
standards of safety and reliability in the factory.
KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES
Electrical Installations &
Wiring
▸
Carry out
single-phase (240 V) and three-phase (400 V) electrical installations.
▸
Perform wiring and
connection of industrial motors and equipment (Star and Delta configurations).
Troubleshooting &
Maintenance
▸
Diagnose and resolve
electrical faults on industrial installations.
▸
Use insulation
resistance testers (Megger) for insulation testing.
▸
Conduct electrical
inspections and testing following maintenance or repairs.
▸
Perform scheduled and
corrective maintenance of electrical panels, connections, and terminals.
▸
Inspect motors,
cables, protective devices, and contactors; carry out preventive and corrective
maintenance.
▸
Participate in major
overhauls and maintenance shutdowns across the facility.
Electrical Panels & Control
Cabinets
▸
Assemble, wire,
install, modify, and troubleshoot industrial electrical control panels.
▸
Select appropriate
cable sizes, protection devices, contactors, and thermal overload relays.
Electromechanical Work
▸
Dismantle, service,
and reassemble electric motors; replace bearings and protect motor windings.
▸
Inspect overall motor
condition before returning equipment to service.
▸
Familiar with Boiler
Operations
Technical Documentation
▸
Read and interpret
electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control circuit diagrams.
▸
Update and annotate
electrical drawings following modifications to installations.
QUALIFICATIONS
& EXPERIENCE
Minimum Requirements
NTC Level 3 in
Electrical Installation Works or an equivalent qualification recognised in
Mauritius.
8 – 10 years of experience in an industrial engineering environment (distillery, sugar mill, or equivalent production facility).
Proven ability to work independently during troubleshooting and maintenance interventions.
Other Preferable Qualifications

Diploma, Higher
National Diploma, or equivalent in Electrical, Industrial Electrical, or
Electromechanical Engineering.
▸
Additional
certifications in industrial maintenance, Pump & Electrical Motors, PLCs,
or automation systems.
KNOWLEDGE
& SKILLS
▸
Experience with
Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) will be a plus
▸
Knowledge of
Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) will be a plus
▸
Hands-on experience
with pumps, conveyors, compressors, and distillation equipment.
▸
Valid driver's
licence will be a plus
▸
IT proficiency skills
will be a plus
