Senior Bookkeeper

 

Location: Quatre Bornes

 

Xeinadin (MRU) Ltd is the Mauritius-based support office of Xeinadin, a UK accountancy and advisory group. Located in Quatre Bornes, it provides accounting services such as management accounts, financial reporting, and VAT support to UK clients, as part of a growing international network.

 

Job Overview


We are looking for a Senior Bookkeeper to support our expanding client base. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organised, and experienced in managing bookkeeping processes for UK clients. They should be confident working with cloud accounting software, maintaining accurate financial records, and managing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Bookkeeping on cloud Software as follows:

  • Review sales and expense documents received via DEXT, ensuring accurate coding and publishing to Xero.
  • Review and match bank statement transactions in Xero to sales and purchase invoices.
  • Post payroll journals based on payroll reports.
  • Prepare and raise queries for the UK team to send to clients.
  • Produce Xero online bank reconciliation reports, reviewing and noting required amendments.
  • Review aged receivables and payables in Xero, make necessary adjustments, and provide review notes for the UK team.
  • Review VAT transactions in Xero VAT returns, confirm correct VAT codes, and forward to the UK team for final review.
  • Enter year-end accounting journals into Xero.

Technical Requirements

  • Understanding of double-entry bookkeeping (advantageous).
  • Strong IT skills with working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience using Xero or other accounting software (beneficial).
  • Awareness of UK VAT rules (a plus).
  • Good communication skills for calls and email communication with the UK team.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing ACCA Level 2 or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 2 years’ relevant work experience.

Training: Full software training will be provided.
