Job Description
Overview of the Role 🔍
Support the Retail Manager by acting as a floating supervisor across multiple boutiques within the assigned business units, ensuring consistent operational standards, effective team leadership, efficient stock management and excellent customer service. Provide hands-on operational support wherever required to ensure business continuity, drive sales performance and support the continuous development of the sales team.
The role requires regular travel between assigned business units to provide operational support, reinforce retail standards and ensure consistency across all boutiques.
Key Responsibilities 📋
Team Leadership & People Management
• Supervise, coach and motivate the Boutique Sales team to achieve individual and team performance targets.
• Maintain a strong and visible presence across the assigned boutiques, providing hands-on supervision, coaching and operational support where required.
• Monitor attendance, punctuality, work schedules and overall team discipline, taking appropriate corrective actions and escalating issues where necessary.
• Support the recruitment, onboarding, coaching and training of new team members, ensuring consistent application of company procedures and product knowledge.
• Conduct regular team briefings and meetings to communicate business priorities, promotions and operational updates.
Foster a positive, collaborative and customer-focused team culture.
Sales & Customer Experience
• Drive sales performance by monitoring daily sales results, analysing trends and ensuring sales targets are achieved.
• Identify ways to improve overall business performance.
• Ensure exceptional customer service standards are consistently delivered across the assigned boutiques.
• Interact with guests to obtain feedback and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Support promotional activities, product launches, theme nights and other commercial initiatives to maximise sales opportunities.
• Ensure the assigned boutiques present a professional, welcoming and well-merchandised environment at all times.
Stock Control & Merchandising
• Ensure accurate stock management by monitoring all stock movements, including receiving, transfers, returns, damaged items and stock adjustments across the assigned boutiques.
• Coordinate and supervise regular stock counts and physical inventories, ensuring discrepancies are investigated and resolved promptly.
• Analyse stock performance and recommend actions to optimise stock levels, minimise losses and improve product availability.
• Ensure visual merchandising standards and brand guidelines are consistently implemented across all assigned boutiques.
• Maintain accurate stock records within the inventory management system.
• Monitor and review key operational KPIs, including sales performance, stock accuracy, shrinkage, damaged stock, stock adjustments.
• Verify deliveries, quantities and product quality, and ensure invoices are reconciled with purchase orders where applicable.
Boutique Operations & Administration
• Support the Retail Manager in the day-to-day operational and administrative management of the assigned boutiques.
• Provide regular updates to the Retail Manager on operational performance, staffing, inventory issues and actions taken across the assigned boutiques.
• Ensure the assigned boutiques operate in accordance with established opening and closing hours, Monday through Sunday.
• Respond proactively to operational challenges such as unplanned absences, staffing shortages and urgent business needs by providing support wherever required to ensure business continuity.
• Coordinate daily operations across the assigned boutiques, ensuring consistent execution of company standards, operational procedures and service excellence.
• Maintain effective communication with internal departments and stakeholders to support boutique operations.
Compliance, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
• Monitor operational performance through regular reporting and provide recommendations to improve efficiency, sales performances and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, operational procedures, health & safety requirements and sustainability commitments across the assigned boutiques.
• Conduct regular quality inspections of boutique presentation, merchandisings standard and operational practices.
• Maintain cooperative working relationships with internal departments and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Report any operational, environmental or compliance issues to the appropriate stakeholders.
Ideal Candidate Profile 🎯
• Higher School Certificate (HSC); a diploma or certificate in Retail Management, Business Administration, Sales or a related field would be an advantage.
• 3–5 years' experience in a retail environment, including experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.
• Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken.
• Computer literacy including hotel management system.
• Sound knowledge of Stock Control and Management.
• Well versed to merchandising process.
• Holder of a valid driving license is a must; own private vehicle is preferred.
• Resides in the North.
