C-Care International, part of the healthcare cluster of CIEL Group, is a Mauritian private healthcare group that owns and operates four healthcare facilities in Mauritius, namely C-Care Darné, Wellkin, Grand-Baie and Tamarin, and two hospitals in Uganda, C-Care IHK and IMC. C-Care also owns and manages 22 primary care Clinics and 55 C-Lab collection centres in Mauritius, Uganda, and Madagascar.

 

C-Care is currently looking for a Core System Assistant to be based at C-Care Hospitals and Clinics, in Mauritius.

 

| Core System Assistant

Reporting to the Core System Lead, the selected candidate will provide operational and technical support for C-Care’s core healthcare information systems by assisting in the maintenance, analysis, enhancement, and day-to-day administration of business-critical applications, including hospital information systems, radiology information systems, patient administration modules, billing processes, reporting activities, and user access management. The role will support system users, coordinate incident resolution, ensure data accuracy and governance, facilitate testing and vendor collaboration, and contribute to the efficient, secure, and reliable operation of core digital platforms in alignment with C-Care Mauritius’ strategic objectives.

 

What you will be doing:


·         Provide functional and operational support for the Hospital Information System (HIS) and other core business systems.

·         Investigate, analyse, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues reported by end users.

·         Support users across clinical, administrative, billing, radiology, pharmacy, finance, and operational departments.

·         Escalate complex or unresolved issues to vendors, development teams, infrastructure teams, or relevant internal stakeholders as required.

·         Monitor recurring system issues and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

·         Support business continuity during system downtimes, service interruptions, and high-priority incidents.

·         Assist in analysing operational requirements and translating business needs into system configuration solutions.

·         Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, changes, and support activities.

·         Share technical knowledge and provide guidance to colleagues to promote teamwork, service excellence, and continuous learning.

·         Assist in training and supporting end users on core system functionalities and best practices.

·         Collaborate effectively with users, vendors, and internal departments to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.

·         Foster positive working relationships with stakeholders to support operational objectives.

·         Ensure support requests are managed within agreed service levels and operational expectations.

·         Create, modify, deactivate, and periodically review system user access in accordance with approved procedures and access governance requirements.

·         Log, monitor, update, and close system-related tickets accurately and promptly.

·         Communicate effectively with users regarding ticket progress, expected resolution timelines, delays, and available workarounds.

·         Identify trends and recurring issues through ticket analysis and recommend long-term improvements.

·         Participate in post-incident reviews and contribute to corrective action plans where required.

·         Ensure compliance with organisational policies, security standards, and system governance requirements.

·         Maintain accurate records and documentation to support audit and compliance activities.

·         Participate in system enhancement initiatives, change requests, upgrades, and optimisation projects.

·         Support the Core System Lead in the planning, coordination, and delivery of core system projects.

·         Assist in user acceptance testing (UAT), system validation, and deployment activities.

·         Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing system performance, efficiency, and user experience.

·         Support the implementation of innovative solutions that improve operational effectiveness and service delivery.

·         Participate in Core System Change Request and Support Core System Lead to deliver projects in a timely manner.

 

What are we looking for?

 

·         Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Information Systems, Healthcare IT, or a related field.

·         1–3 years of experience in application support, system analysis, healthcare IT, or business systems support.

·         Experience working with Hospital Information Systems or healthcare-related applications.

·         Experience in user access management and system governance.

·         Experience with SQL, reporting tools, and data extraction.

·         Experience supporting multi-site operations.

·         Understanding of healthcare confidentiality, patient data sensitivity, and audit requirements.

·         Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

·         Good understanding of business processes and system workflows.

·         Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.

·         Ability to communicate effectively with end users, management, technical teams, and vendors.
