Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Accountant, the Accounts Clerk will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist the Accountant in maintaining the General Ledger, Cash Book, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
  • Perform general accounting and bookkeeping duties.
  • Process supplier invoices, including verification, preparation, and posting into the accounting system.
  • Prepare customer invoices and monitor accounts receivable to ensure timely collections.
  • Maintain accurate and complete accounting records and supporting documentation.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Support the preparation of schedules and documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Assist management in preparing periodic financial reports and analyses to support decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and statutory requirements.
  • Perform any other accounting or administrative duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, ACCA Level 1, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in accounts payable and receivable or a similar accounting role.
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with accounting software will be an advantage.
