Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Accountant, the Accounts Clerk will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. Key responsibilities include:
- Assist the Accountant in maintaining the General Ledger, Cash Book, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
- Perform general accounting and bookkeeping duties.
- Process supplier invoices, including verification, preparation, and posting into the accounting system.
- Prepare customer invoices and monitor accounts receivable to ensure timely collections.
- Maintain accurate and complete accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Perform bank reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Support the preparation of schedules and documentation for internal and external audits.
- Assist management in preparing periodic financial reports and analyses to support decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and statutory requirements.
- Perform any other accounting or administrative duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, ACCA Level 1, or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in accounts payable and receivable or a similar accounting role.
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with accounting software will be an advantage.
