Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of assigned premises, buildings
and surrounding areas to ensure the safety and security of company assets,
employees and visitors.
- Monitor and control access to the premises by verifying
visitor identification, issuing visitor passes and maintaining accurate
access records.
- Operate and monitor CCTV systems, alarm panels and
other security equipment, promptly identifying and reporting any
suspicious activity or security risks.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, incidents,
emergencies and security breaches, taking appropriate action and liaising
with emergency services when required.
- Enforce company security policies, procedures and site
regulations while maintaining a safe and secure working environment.
- Conduct routine inspections of gates, doors, windows,
fencing and other security infrastructure to ensure they are secure and
functioning properly.
- Prepare accurate daily occurrence reports, incident
reports and handover notes, ensuring timely communication of all
security-related matters to management.
- Assist during emergency evacuations, fire drills and
business continuity activities, ensuring compliance with health, safety
and emergency procedures.
- Safeguard company property and assets by preventing
theft, vandalism, unauthorised access and other security-related
incidents.
- Provide professional customer service by assisting
employees, contractors and visitors while maintaining a courteous and
vigilant presence.
- Report hazards, unsafe conditions and maintenance
issues observed during patrols to the relevant departments for corrective
action.
- Perform any other security or operational duties
assigned by management to support business requirements.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong observation skills with the ability to identify
potential security risks and respond proactively.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, with the
ability to interact professionally with employees, visitors and external
authorities.
- Ability to remain calm, composed and make sound
decisions during emergencies and high-pressure situations.
- High level of integrity, honesty and confidentiality
when handling security-related matters.
- Good physical fitness and the ability to patrol for
extended periods, including working outdoors in varying weather
conditions.
- Basic knowledge of CCTV systems, access control systems
and security procedures.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills,
with the ability to de-escalate difficult situations.
- Ability to work independently as well as
collaboratively within a team.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, public
holidays and overtime when required.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, secure and
service-oriented workplace.
