Job Description
The Residence Mauritius
is actually recruiting an Accountant. As an Accountant, you will responsible
for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing daily and monthly
reports, and ensuring compliance with hotel and regulatory accounting
standards. The role collaborates closely with the finance team and operational
departments to provide timely financial insights that help guide hotel
decisions.
Main
Responsibilities
Day-to-day tasks include
posting journal entries, reconciling bank and ledger accounts, processing
invoices and payments, and monitoring revenue and expense transactions.
Prepare monthly
Management Accounts, quarterly and year-end Financial Statements within set deadline
Responsible for managing
the day to day operations of the accounting function of the company
Assist with budgeting,
forecasting, and cost control activities, as well as support internal and
external audits.
Responsible to support
and liaise with the Hotel Manager and Head Office in achieving the company’s
objectives
Responsible for developing
an efficient and professional team within the Accounting Department
Responsible for the close
monitoring of Trade Receivables, Trade Payables, Inventories, Fixed Asset
Register and bank reconciliations
Implementing and
overseeing all activities relating to the financial aspects of the hotel in
compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Ensure compliance with
all contracts, hotel licenses and other regulatory requirements.
Liaise with Internal and
External Auditors and ensure audit recommendations are implemented within
agreed timeframe
Any other cognate duties
Other requirements and
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of
accounting principles, financial reporting, and general ledger management.
Proficiency with accounting
software and MS Excel, including spreadsheets, reconciliations, and basic data
analysis.
Attention to detail,
accuracy in data entry, and strong organizational skills for handling multiple
tasks and deadlines.
Effective communication
skills and the ability to work collaboratively with finance and operational
teams.
Experience in hospitality
or service-oriented industries is an advantage.
ACCA qualified with
professional experience.
Ability to work on-site and
maintain professional conduct and confidentiality.
