Job Description

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines will be explained as a part of the orientation process.

·        Protect the hotel and the guests, employees and property.

·        Keep a logbook of anything unusual or problematic that happens, and they often act as a liaison between Police and hotel if something happens.

·        Spend most of their time patrolling the grounds and premises of the hotel or monitoring the hotel via security cameras.  They report to either the Security Manager or the Operations Manager.

·        Call Police or Fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or the presence of unauthorized people.

·        Write reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft or unusual occurrences.

·        Warn people of rule infractions or violations and apprehend or evict violators from premises.

·        Inspect and adjust security systems, equipment, or machinery to ensure operational use and to detect evidence of tampering.

·        Monitor and follow up access of all non-hotel staff in and out of the hotel.

·        Identifying objects, actions and events – Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.

·        Assisting and caring for others – providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as co-workers and customers.

·        Communicating with supervisors and peers – providing information to supervisors, co-workers by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.

·        Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.

·        Any other cognate duties may be assigned.

 

CRITERIA

·       Proven experience as a Security Guard or relevant position.

·       Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.

·       Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures and protocols.

·       Surveillance skills and detail orientation.

·       Integrity and professionalism.

·       Physical ability to perform the job, including standing for long periods and lifting heavy objects.

·       Good communication skills.

·       Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.

·       Basic First Aid and CPR certification.

·       Strong observational skills.

·       Ability to write clear and concise reports.

·        Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and public holidays.
