Job Description

Main Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure optimum equipment availability and reliability.
  • Prepare detailed work orders, job plans, work packs and maintenance procedures for all planned maintenance activities.
  • Review maintenance requests, define job scope, estimate labour requirements, identify tools, materials, spare parts and external services required to execute the work.
  • Coordinate with the Electrical Department, Operations, Procurement, Warehouse and contractors to ensure all resources are available before scheduled work.
  • Prepare technical specifications, request quotations, evaluate offers and follow up on the procurement of spare parts, equipment and maintenance services.
  • Maintain and update the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), ensuring accurate asset information, maintenance history, work orders and equipment records.
  • Develop weekly, monthly and annual maintenance schedules in collaboration with Operations to minimise plant downtime.
  • Support the planning and coordination of annual shutdowns, major overhauls and capital projects.
  • Monitor maintenance performance indicators (KPIs), including schedule compliance, backlog, equipment availability and maintenance costs and prepare regular reports.
  • Maintain appropriate inventories of critical spare parts and recommend stock levels to ensure equipment reliability while optimising inventory costs.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities are planned in accordance with the Company's Safety Rules, Electrical Safety Procedures, environmental requirements and statutory regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the Electrical Department's CAPEX and OPEX budgets related to maintenance activities.


Profile : 

  • Sound knowledge of electrical engineering principles and industrial maintenance practices.
  • Good understanding of power plant electrical equipment, including generators, transformers, switchgear, motors, variable speed drives (VSDs), protection systems and auxiliary equipment.
  • Knowledge of preventive, predictive and reliability-centered maintenance methodologies.
  • Proficient in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Good knowledge of maintenance planning, scheduling, work preparation and spare parts management.
  • Excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Qualifications and Experience : 

  • Degree/Licence/DUT/BTS/Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in maintenance planning, maintenance engineering, or industrial electrical maintenance, preferably in a power generation or heavy industrial environment.
  • Experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems and applicable electrical safety standards would be an advantage.
