Job Description
The Warehouse Storekeeper ensures efficient inventory management, accurate stock control, and smooth warehouse operations. The role involves overseeing the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods while maintaining compliance with safety standards and company policies. The Storekeeper is also responsible for leading a small team, ensuring cost control, and improving customer satisfaction.
1. Receiving & Inventory Control
(1)
Supervise container unloading,
ensuring physical checks are conducted to prevent loss or discrepancies.
(2)
Counter-verify packing lists
against product quantities and descriptions and report any discrepancies.
(3)
Capture and store audit trail
photos, including sealed containers before and after opening.
(4)
Conduct weekly and monthly
cycle counts and submit discrepancy reports.
(5)
Maintain a system-to-physical
stock match at all times.
(6)
Minimise shrinkage and ensure
general inventory discrepancies do not exceed 0.05% of total inventory.
2. Warehouse Operations & Order Fulfilment
(1)
Manage warehouse stock
movement, ensuring systematic storage and accessibility of products.
(2)
Prepare and organise products
for showroom transfers as per the fixed schedule from the Link system.
(3)
Ensure products are staged for
delivery at least two days in advance for verification and issue resolution.
(4)
Facilitate customer pick-ups
efficiently while ensuring proper documentation and verification.
3. Inventory Management
(1)
Perform regular cyclic and
random inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
(2)
Ensure stock accuracy and
improve stock-turn ratios.
(3)
Implement best practices for
inventory storage and movement in a 5000m², three-storey warehouse.
(4)
Plan and support the
implementation of mechanisation, including goods lifts, battery-powered flatbed
trucks, and inclined belt systems.
4. Team Management & Performance
(1)
Supervise a team of 3–4 staff,
ensuring productivity, discipline, and adherence to warehouse protocols.
(2)
Provide ongoing training to
warehouse staff to enhance operational knowledge and efficiency.
(3)
Monitor staff performance and
take corrective actions to improve efficiency and teamwork.
5. Cost Management
(1)
Control warehouse-related
costs, including storage, material handling, and manpower utilisation.
(2)
Reduce wastage and damages
through improved stock handling and movement practices.
(3)
Implement cost-saving
initiatives in warehouse operations without compromising efficiency.
6. Safety & Compliance
(1)
Ensure adherence to all safety
protocols, minimising workplace accidents and risks.
(2)
Conduct routine safety
inspections and report non-compliance to management.
(3) Train staff on proper lifting, handling, and storage techniques to prevent injuries.
7. Customer Satisfaction & NPS Improvement
(1)
Ensure timely and error-free
order fulfilment to improve the Net Promoter Score (NPS).
(2)
Handle customer pick-ups
efficiently, providing clear communication and a seamless experience.
(3)
Work closely with other
departments to resolve customer-related issues quickly and effectively.
8. Customer Process Improvement & Projects
(1)
Participate in warehouse
optimisation projects, including automation and mechanisation initiatives such
as goods lifts, flatbed ferry trucks, and belt systems.
(2)
Support system upgrades and
digitalisation efforts for improved inventory tracking and order fulfilment
efficiency.
(3)
Provide operational feedback on
warehouse layout and workflow improvements to enhance efficiency.
(4) Assist in implementing SOPs and best practices to streamline warehouse operations and reduce errors.
