The Industrial Welder is responsible for carrying out high-quality welding, fabrication, repair, and maintenance of plant machinery, production equipment, pipelines, structures, and other metal components. The role ensures that all welding work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist in welding, fabrication, and repair works under the guidance of experienced welders.
2. Support the maintenance team in repairing metal structures, equipment, and piping.
3. Help prepare materials for welding, cutting, grinding, and fitting operations.
4. Operate welding and fabrication tools under supervision.
5. Inspect work areas and maintain good housekeeping practices.
6. Follow safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Diploma, Certificate, or Technical Qualification in:
• Welding and Fabrication
• Mechanical Engineering
• Industrial Maintenance
• Metal Fabrication
• Mechatronics
• or a related technical field.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the internship, the Industrial Welder Intern should be able to:

• Demonstrate basic proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Arc welding techniques.
• Safely operate welding and fabrication equipment under supervision.
• Assist in fabrication and repair of industrial machinery and metal structures.
• Apply safe work practices in accordance with HSE standards.
• Read and interpret basic engineering drawings and fabrication sketches.
• Contribute effectively to the Engineering and Maintenance team while developing practical industry experience.
