Job Description

 We are looking for Waiters and Waitress for our fine-dining restaurant, Volcan, located near Trou aux Cerfs, Curepipe.


Current weekly schedule for Volcan Restaurant:

  • Monday: Closed
  • Tuesday to Thursday: 18:00 - 23:00
  • Friday to Sunday: 11:00 - 15:00  & 18:00 - 23:00

We are targeting to remain open 7/7 and will provide a roster once open. 


1. POSITION PURPOSE 

The Waiter is responsible for delivering efficient and professional food and beverage service to guests, ensuring a high-quality dining experience at all times. The role contributes to the smooth operation of restaurant services, maintains service standards, and supports overall guest satisfaction. person. 


2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Food & Beverage Service 
• Provide prompt and courteous service to guests in accordance with established service standards. 
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and ensure timely delivery to guests. 
• Serve food and beverages in a professional manner, ensuring presentation and service quality. 
Monitor guest needs throughout service and respond promptly to requests. 

Guest Experience 
• Ensure a positive dining experience by maintaining a friendly, attentive, and professional approach. 
• Provide guests with accurate information regarding menu items, promotions, and recommendations. 
• Handle guest queries or concerns efficiently and escalate where necessary. 

Service Preparation & Setup 
• Prepare tables, service stations, and dining areas prior to service. 
• Ensure proper table setting, cleanliness, and readiness of service areas. 
Assist in opening and closing duties of the restaurant. 

Hygiene & Compliance 
Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in all service areas. 
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and Company procedures. 
• Handle food and beverages in accordance with established hygiene practices. 

Coordination & Team Support 
• Work closely with kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth service flow. 
• Communicate effectively regarding orders, delays, or special requests. 
• Support colleagues and contribute to a cooperative working environment. 

Cash Handling & Basic Sales (where applicable) 
• Assist in billing processes or handling payments when required. 
• Promote menu items, specials, and upselling opportunities where appropriate.
