Job Description

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Propose and implement preventive measures to safeguard the sanitary status of all LFL farmers
  • Prepare and execute an annual program of farm visits and audits to assess, monitor, and review flock health and biosecurity standards
  • Prepare comprehensive reports covering biosecurity, health, hygiene, and overall farm audit outcomes, including recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Develop, implement, and monitor vaccination programs for client farms, including the assessment of their relevance, effectiveness, and compliance
  • Perform Veterinary diagnosis of flock health issues, prescription of appropriate treatments and corrective actions, and follow-up to ensure successful implementation and recovery
  • Continuous monitoring of developments, emerging technologies, and best practices in veterinary medicine, with recommendations for innovation and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including the Division of Veterinary Services, LFL Quality, Production and Commercial teams, to deliver effective and sustainable health solutions for farmers
  • Ability to provide veterinary support and respond to emergency situations affecting customer farms, both during and outside normal working hours

Qualification & Profile:

  • Bachelors in veterinary science or any equivalent qualification
  • At least 10 years in a similar position is an advantage, and up to date with new scientific developments
  • Passion for animals and committed to their health and well-being
  • Health & Safety conscious and compliant
  • Well organised and disciplined, with a sense of observation
  • Reliable with a Team spirit and a ‘Can Do’ attitude
  • Excellent Communication Skills and able to explain clear diagnosis
  • Proactive with quick decision-making skills
  • Ability to work after normal working hours, on Weekends, or on shift when needed
