Job Description

Our client, a a well-established player in the pharmaceutical and distribution industry, to recruit a Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Reporting to the CEO and the Board, the CFO is a key member of the executive team, responsible for steering the company's financial strategy, financial planning and analysis, reporting, audits, compliance and banking relationships. This is a high-impact leadership role for a seasoned finance professional ready to shape the next phase of the company's growth.

Key Responsibilities

 Financial Strategy & Planning

  Develop and implement financial strategies supporting the company's growth and profitability objectives

  Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial reports, budgets and forecasts

  Ensure effective internal controls, legal compliance and sound corporate governance


Financial Management

  Manage the company's financial position, including cash flow, liabilities and assets

  Oversee treasury functions – banking relationships, investments and capital structure

  Optimise financial performance through analysis of profitability, revenue and expenditure


Risk Management

  Identify and manage financial risks and develop mitigation strategies

  Conduct risk assessments and keep risk management policies up to date

  Oversee insurance and risk management arrangements

 

Reporting & Compliance

  Deliver timely, accurate financial reporting to the Board and stakeholders

  Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws and auditing requirements

  Coordinate regulatory filings and statutory financial statements


Operational Efficiency

  Implement and oversee financial systems and tools to strengthen processes

  Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, banks and financial institutions

  Support operational decision-making through financial analysis and insight


Leadership & Team Management

  Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing finance team

  Partner with fellow executives; provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and Board

  Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the finance department


Qualifications & Experience

  Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field; CPA, CA or CFA designation preferred

  Advanced knowledge of financial regulations, standards and compliance requirements

  10–15 years of progressive financial experience, including at least 5 years in a senior financial leadership role

  Proven experience in the pharmaceutical or distribution industries is highly desirable

  Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, analysis, budgeting and reporting

  Strong command of corporate finance, financial modelling and financial risk management

  Hands-on experience with ERP systems and financial software
