Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Source, negotiate and procure genuine and alternative motor vehicle spare parts from approved suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers.
  • Obtain quotations, evaluate supplier proposals, and negotiate the best commercial terms.
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of spare parts to minimize claim repair turnaround times.
  • Monitor supplier performance in terms of pricing, quality, delivery, and service levels.
  • Maintain and regularly update supplier databases and price lists.
  • Collaborate closely with Claims Assessors, Motor Claims Officers, and approved repairers to ensure smooth claims processing.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimisation without compromising quality or customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with the Company's procurement policies, internal controls, and governance requirements.
  • Prepare procurement reports, analyse purchasing trends, and recommend process improvements.
  • Resolve supplier issues, shortages, backorders, and delivery discrepancies efficiently.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A Diploma or Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years' experience in procurement, preferably within the automotive, insurance, or motor spare parts industry.
  • Sound knowledge of motor vehicle components and spare parts.
  • Excellent negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Strong analytical and cost management abilities.
  • High level of integrity, organisation, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with procurement or ERP systems would be an advantage.
