C-Care International, part of the healthcare cluster of CIEL Group, is a Mauritian private healthcare group that owns and operates four healthcare facilities in Mauritius, namely C-Care Darné, Wellkin, Grand-Baie and Tamarin, and two hospitals in Uganda, C-Care IHK and IMC. C-Care also owns and manages 22 primary care Clinics and 55 C-Lab collection centres in Mauritius, Uganda, and Madagascar.

 

C-Care is currently looking for an Operations Excellence Lead to be based across C-Care entities, in Mauritius.

 

 

| Operations Excellence Lead

Reporting to the Head of Retail Pharmacy, the selected candidate will support the overall performance of the retail pharmacy chain by monitoring key operational metrics, assisting in sales analysis, and contributing to profitability improvement initiatives. The role will also support process improvement activities, supplier coordination, and cross-functional alignment across C-Care entities. In addition, the incumbent will assist in staff training, stock management activities, and perpetual inventory counts, while promoting operational efficiency and a high-performance culture within pharmacy operations.

 

What you will be doing:

• Promoting a unified “one pharmacy” mindset and strengthening collaboration across retail pharmacy teams.

• Monitoring key performance metrics, analysing sales, and reporting on operational and financial performance.

• Ensuring effective stock and inventory management to reduce stock-outs, overstocking, and write-offs.

• Coordinating with doctors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure product availability and maximise profitability.

• Overseeing bulk ordering, GRN accuracy, pricing/markup correctness, and stock control processes.

• Ensuring timely shelf replenishment, proper merchandising, and compliance with pricing and security standards.

• Managing stock optimisation activities including non-moving and short-expiry items, returns, and stock day controls.

• Coordinating perpetual inventory counts, identifying stock control gaps, and ensuring corrective actions.

• Monitoring operational efficiency including rostering, turnaround time, and pharmacy workflow performance.

• Supporting training initiatives, continuous improvement programmes, and process optimisation across pharmacies.

• Ensuring timely resolution and closure of customer complaints.

• Driving financial performance including sales growth, gross margin improvement, and revenue mix optimisation.

• Improving patient satisfaction through reduced waiting times, fewer errors, and better service quality.

• Enhancing workforce productivity and operational efficiency across pharmacy teams.

• Coordinating monthly operational activities and cross-functional initiatives across business units and suppliers.

 

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Commerce, or a related field.

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in leading a retail pharmacy or retail sales environment with proven results in sales growth, customer satisfaction, and team leadership.

• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical, medication, and healthcare products.

• Good understanding of business finance, including turnover, profit, and P&L.

• Ability to define, monitor, and report key performance indicators (KPIs).

• Strong customer engagement and sales skills.

• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop teams.

• Computer literate with experience in HIS, Word, and Excel.

• Positive mindset with strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure.

• Proactive, curious, and motivated with a strong drive for continuous learning and improvement.
