Merchant Growth & Partnerships Lead


Build the merchant network behind Mauritius’ next lifestyle membership platform.

Our Client is a curated lifestyle membership platform connecting consumers with premium offers across dining, lifestyle, retail, and experiences. We help merchants drive incremental demand, higher customer spending, repeat visits, and better digital engagement through exclusive offers, table bookings, QR tools, loyalty features, and merchant visibility.

As our Client launches in Mauritius, we are looking for a Merchant Growth & Partnerships Lead to take ownership of merchant acquisition, onboarding, partnerships, and on-ground growth. This is a high-impact role for someone who knows the Mauritian merchant landscape, enjoys building relationships, and can turn conversations into active business partnerships.

 

What you will do

You will lead the growth of the Clients merchant network across Mauritius, with a focus on dining, lifestyle, retail, and experience-based businesses.

Your responsibilities will include:

Merchant acquisition and onboarding

  • Identify, approach, and onboard high-quality merchants across Mauritius.
  • Manage the full onboarding journey from first meeting to live activation.
  • Ensure merchant listings are accurate, complete, attractive, and commercially relevant.
  • Capture basic merchant content and coordinate improvements where required.

Merchant engagement and revenue growth

      

  • Build strong, long-term relationships with merchants.
  • Negotiate attractive offers that drive customer usage and spend.
  • Encourage adoption of the Clients merchant tools, including table bookings, QR-based digital menus, order-and-collect, and other SaaS tools.
  • Keep merchants active, engaged, and commercially successful on the platform.

 Corporate engagement and activations

 

  • Support presentations and activations with corporate partners.
  • Help drive awareness, employee adoption, and transaction volume.
  • Participate in on-ground campaigns, pop-ups, and merchant activations.

Partnerships and market development

 

  • Leverage existing networks to accelerate merchant growth.
  • Build relationships with local institutions, associations, tourism bodies, and business chambers.
  • Identify strategic partnerships that can help scale the Client faster.
  • Manage pipeline through direct outreach, referrals, inbound leads, and partnerships.

 

Who we are looking for

 The ideal candidate will have:

  • A strong existing network of merchants in Mauritius.
  • Proven experience in sales, business development, partnerships, or merchant acquisition.
  • Confidence in meeting business owners, negotiating offers, and closing partnerships.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A hands-on, field-based approach to execution.
  • The ability to work independently in a fast-moving startup environment.
  • Comfort engaging with both merchants and corporate stakeholders.
  • A practical, solutions-oriented mindset.

 

Experience in hospitality, restaurants, retail, tourism, payments, loyalty, fintech, merchant acquiring, or corporate partnerships will be an advantage.

 Compensation

  • Salary range: MUR 35,000 – MUR 55,000 per month
  • Negotiable based on experience, network strength, and target alignment.
  • Performance-driven growth opportunities as the Mauritius business scales.
  • Direct reporting line to the Chief Business Officer.
