Job Description
The Head of
Project Management Office is responsible for overseeing and leading the project
management team, ensuring successful execution of all projects within the
company. Reporting directly to the Chief Information & Digital Officer,
this role involves developing and implementing project management strategies,
establishing project goals and objectives and ensuring timely delivery of
projects while maintaining high-quality standards. He will oversee the entire project lifecycle,
ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
with the vendors.
- Formulate and execute PMO policies and procedures while establishing and upholding project management standards and best practices. Ensure compliance with these policies within the business solution team and implement new regulatory requirements according to the approved timeline
- Supervise the planning, execution, and completion of projects, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget constraints. Concurrently, monitor project performance and take corrective actions as necessary
- Offer guidance and support to project managers and teams, facilitating effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders. Track and report on project progress, providing regular updates to stakeholders and senior management while fostering strong client relationships to meet and exceed their expectations.
- Conduct regular project reviews and status meetings, managing project risks and issues by developing mitigation strategies. Perform risk assessments to minimize potential project risks and ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Identify and implement process enhancements to improve project delivery, manage resource allocation, and address project issues and conflicts, escalating when necessary. Provide training and development opportunities for project managers and prepare project reports for senior leadership, promoting a culture of continuous improvement within the PMO.
- Oversee comprehensive vendor management and maintain consistent communication with vendors on all projects that involve vendor dependencies. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to establish project scope, objectives, and deliverables
- Confirm that all necessary approvals are obtained prior to the Go Live phase, ensuring a smooth transition of production responsibilities to IT. Develop and apply project management strategies and methodologies to facilitate successful project outcomes. Ensure that test and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) scripts are prepared as needed and that testing is conducted punctually.
- Remain informed about industry trends and best practices in project management, integrating pertinent insights into the project management processes at Master.
PREREQUISITES:
•
Degree in one
or more discipline engineering, computer science, business management or
information Technology or any other acceptable qualification
•
A post
graduate qualification in related fields or any other equivalent
•
Extensive 10
years+ relevant professional experience
SKILLS
•
Proven track
record of leading a MPO with successful outcomes and experiences.
•
Skilled in
supervising within a matrix organizational structure.
•
Proficient in
utilizing project management software and tools.
•
Documented
advancements in evaluating project management maturity levels.
•
Strong
background in change management, with additional experience in Six Sigma and
banking environments as significant assets.
