Job Description

We are looking for a Payment Controller within Korridor’ s Treasury function, ensuring that funds are processed accurately, securely, and on time across all operating regions. Based in Mauritius as part of the Treasury and Finance team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day verification, processing, and execution of multi-currency payments, maintaining the integrity of banking operations, and ensuring suppliers are paid in accordance with agreed terms. This role requires a strong focus on accuracy and control, with careful verification of each transaction, maintenance of audit-ready records, and timely identification of any discrepancies.

What You'll Do

Payment processing and execution: Carry out day-to-day verification and processing of invoices and payment requests, load payments accurately across multiple currencies, and perform checks to confirm the completeness of every payment.

Supplier payments and deadlines: Ensure suppliers are paid on time and in line with due dates, and consistently meet all finance deadlines and reporting requirements.

Banking ownership and controls: Take ownership of the company's bank accounts, monitor and report anomalies in banking transactions, and provide timely updates of bank statements to the services team.

Records, filing and audit readiness: Maintain accurate records of daily payments and ensure all supporting documentation is filed and audit-ready at all times.

Process and systems: Adhere to the payment process flow and Treasury SOPs, continuously review current and new systems, and resolve exceptions caused by system errors.

Confidentiality: Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information processed through the payment system, including salaries, bonuses, and advances.

Collaboration and support: Support the Head of Finance and Treasury Manager on strategic initiatives, provide timely assistance to the finance, services, and other teams, report to duties promptly, and take on ad hoc duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Essential

Diploma or degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

2–3 years' proven experience in a similar payments, treasury, or finance role

Hands-on experience with payment systems such as Kyriba, Treasury Express, or bank internet-banking (IB) portals

Working knowledge of treasury management and multi-currency payment processing

Proficiency in data entry and data management

     Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills

Strong numerical and analytical skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy

Diagnostic and problem-solving ability, including resolving payment and system exceptions

Ability to deal with complex information and requests, and to work effectively under sustained pressure

Strong organisation, administration, and time-management skills, with good written and verbal communication in English and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality

A confident, enthusiastic self-starter who takes initiative and ownership

A dependable team player who balances individual and team responsibility, and both gives and accepts feedback

Action-oriented and resilient — staying calm and accurate under pressure, and delivering to deadlines not on good days, but every day

Advantageous

Experience working across Sub-Saharan Africa or within a multinational organisation

Previous experience dealing with multiple currencies in a multinational environment

Previous experience in the banking sector

Additional courses or certifications in a relevant finance or accounting field

Proficiency in additional languages spoken across our markets, such as French or Portuguese

What Great Looks Like in This Role

You'll know you're succeeding when…

This role may not be right for you if…

Payments go out accurately and on time — suppliers are paid to terms and exceptions are rare.

You're uncomfortable with detail-heavy, repetitive work that demands accuracy on every transaction.

Bank accounts are monitored and reconciled daily, and you flag anomalies before anyone else spots them.

You tend to let deadlines slip, or need close supervision to stay on track.

Records and supporting documents are always audit-ready, with nothing left to chase at period-end.

Multi-currency complexity and system exceptions frustrate you rather than satisfy you to solve.

Confidential payment information — salaries, bonuses, advances — is handled with complete discretion.

You're not comfortable handling highly confidential information with discretion.

Finance and services colleagues trust you to respond quickly and get the detail right every time.
