Summary
The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of kitchen areas, ensuring proper cleaning of utensils, equipment, and workspaces.
The role supports kitchen and service teams by upholding food
safety and sanitation standards.
Key
Responsibilities
·
Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils,
crockery, cutlery, and glassware
·
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, storage
rooms, and back-of-house facilities
·
Operate dishwashing machines and ensure proper
handling of items
·
Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing
kitchen supplies
·
Ensure proper waste disposal and recycling
procedures are followed
·
Follow food safety, hygiene, and health
regulations at all times
·
Support kitchen staff during peak service hours
when required
·
Report equipment damage or maintenance issues
to supervisors
·
Ensure adequate stock of cleaning supplies and
stewarding materials
Qualifications
& Experience
·
Basic education preferred
·
Previous experience in stewarding or
hospitality is an advantage
·
Knowledge of hygiene, sanitation, and safety
standards
