The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of menu items according to recipes and quality standards. This role involves ensuring that food is cooked to order and delivered promptly, with a focus on quality, consistency, and food safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
- Set up and stock workstations with all necessary ingredients and equipment.
- Ensure food is cooked to the correct temperature and quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and prep areas.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe kitchen environment.
- Assist with ordering and inventory management as needed.
- Work as part of a team, coordinating with servers and other staff to ensure smooth service.
- Handle special dietary requests or modifications as needed.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a cook in a restaurant or similar setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of basic kitchen techniques, knife handling, and food preparation.
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
