Trainee Textile Technologist

CDL is currently looking for a Trainee Textile Technologist to analyze customer swatches and conceptualize these swatches into knitting structures. The Trainee Textile Technologist shall be reporting to the Knitting Manager.

Created in 1989 and a member of CIEL Textile, CDL is a fully integrated knitting, dyeing and finishing mill located in Forest Side.  With a workforce of over 400, CDL produces fabric for the fine knits garment-making industry. CDL is currently looking for a Trainee Textile Technologist to analyze customer swatches and conceptualize these swatches into knitting structures.

The Trainee Textile Technologist shall be reporting to the Knitting Manager.

What you will be doing:

• Analysis of swatches from customers and conceptualizing these swatches into knitting structures
• Programming and setting of knitting machines
• Improve existing collars offerings in terms of quality and structure
• Provide training to the team on techniques of machines and programming
• Perform all other cognate duties as instructed by the Knitting Manager

What are we looking for?

• Diploma/Degree in Textile Technology and or Knitting Technology or equivalent
• Ability to understand and or learn, knitting structures and convert them in Digital Program to set on knitting machine
• Ability to learn and develop new structures on flat knit machines for collar designs
• Ability to work independently and in team
• Good communication skills and motivated
• Ability to develop and grow yourself to other dimensions.
• Committed and reliable.
