Trainee Engineer - ServEquip Ltd (Port Operations)

A Trainee Service Engineer’s job involves assisting experienced engineers with the maintenance, repair, and servicing of cranes, learning diagnostic skills, and adhering to safety regulations, while gaining hands-on experience in the field.

Key Responsibilities 

• Daily Planning and routine scheduling of maintenance/repair tasks
• Perform pre-release inspection on cranes and other daily/weekly inspections
• Identify and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with cranes
• To monitor running hours of RTG cranes and plan servicing accordingly.
• Keep accurate records of all inspections, servicing, and repair work performed
• Adhere to all relevant safety regulations and standards, as per the Operational Safety and Health Act Mauritius (OSHA). 

Job Requirements

• Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineers from a recognised tertiary education institution.
• The Candidate Should be eligible for registration with the Council of Registered Professional Engineer in Mauritius
• The candidate should be pragmatic and be a team player.
• Holder of a valid private car driving licence.
• Be well versed with PLC hardware and software.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Words, Excel and Teams.
• Well organised.
• Pay attention to details.
