In a nutshell, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will serve as a recruitment consultant for Rogers Hospitality's various brands and business units. The focus will be on filling key supervisory and managerial positions while proactively building talent pools for high-attrition roles. This individual will guide HR teams from the recruitment request to the first interview stage, after which business unit HR teams will take over to complete the hiring process.
The main objective of this role is to ensure a seamless recruitment process for specific or hard-to-fill positions and convert applicants into engaged employees.
What you'll do:
- Assess applicants for supervisory/managerial roles using behavioral assessment tools, focusing on their knowledge, skills, and aptitudes.
- Manage the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) for optimized tracking and detailed reporting of recruitment activities.
- Develop and maintain a candidate nurturing program to engage potential candidates and update them on future opportunities.
- Oversee reference and background checks, validate job descriptions, and conduct job leveling for middle to senior management positions.
- Upload job descriptions to various recruitment platforms (job boards, career portals, social media) and conduct proactive sourcing strategies to build talent pipelines for high-turnover and critical roles.
- Screen resumes, conduct initial interviews (phone and face-to-face), and perform headhunting for hard-to-fill positions, ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout.
- Collaborate with the People Development team and Talent Acquisition Manager to deliver training on best recruitment practices and interviewing techniques.
- Provide well-documented recruitment reports, communicate hiring processes and company culture to candidates, and assist in organizing recruitment events.
- Work closely with the Employer Brand Communication Executive and People Operations teams to enhance employer branding through social media, content creation, and participation in hiring events and job fairs.
- Regularly engage with People Operations teams to review recruitment strategies' effectiveness, track staffing metrics, and support high-level projects with the Talent Acquisition Manager.
What we're looking for:
- Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Proven work experience in talent acquisition or recruiting, preferably in a high-growth environment
- Proven ability to identify and attract top talent through various channels
- Hands-on experience with full-cycle recruiting using various interview techniques and evaluation methods
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building relationships with hiring managers and candidates
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with applicant tracking systems and other HR software tools would be an advantage
