The Student Recruitment Officer would be responsible for the recruitment of local and international students, providing them the required advice and support towards submitting their application.

Salary: Rs 30000 - Rs 45000
Qualifications:
A first degree from a recognised institution acceptable to the Board.
Experience
At least three years of experience in marketing, sales, admission and recruitment.
Knowledge and Skills
Candidates should –
- Have a proven sales/recruitment/liaison experience, knowledge and skills
- Be Strong communicator with effective written, presentation and oral communications, and interpersonal skills. Conversing in more than two common languages would constitute an advantage.
- Customer service focused
- Knowledge of PML programs/policies and the TVET system in Mauritius
- Possess strong time management, organizational and multitasking abilities
- Be able to deal courteously and effectively with tact and diplomacy
- Be able to portray a positive and professional image
- Be a Team player, with the ability to work independently
- Be able to think both creatively and strategically
- Have excellent judgment and understanding of the recruitment cycle and process
- Be able to work under pressure and work in a changing environment
- Be able to travel internationally under short notice
- Be able to maintain confidentiality

Duties
- To report to the CEO or Registrar or any delegated officer;
- To develop and facilitate information sessions to highlight the PML experience and advantages to positively influence prospective students, thus contributing to PML’s recruitment and retention strategies.
- To engage, advise and support key agents in promotional activities including Fairs, Exhibitions and Interview Days.
- To provide training to key agents and counsellors through regular visits and training sessions.
- To collaborate with the wider sales and admissions teams to follow up enquiries and applications to convert and recruit new students.
- To deliver information sessions held in secondary schools, other similar institutions and platforms for disseminating of information on recruitment.
- To maintain a thorough knowledge of PML programs, admission procedures, facilities, student services and unique selling points.
- Maintain an up to date record of the student recruitment and admissions process
- To take the lead on follow up activities to ensure high application to enrolment conversation rate.
- Work closely with the Marketing department to strengthen existing and develop new links with agents and sponsors regionally and globally.
- To keep updates with recruitment information on relevant websites, engage in social media promotion.
- To contribute to PML’s communication with prospective students to foster influential relationships to reach annual conversion targets. Conversion activities include: assisting with the prospective student call campaign, follow-up visits to high schools, involvement with mass mailings, assisting in the preparation of print and electronic materials for distribution, supporting social media strategies, direct responses to email, phone and written requests for information and the maintenance of the prospective student database. The majority of communications involvement will relate to individuals and groups external to the University.
- To respond to inquiries in person, on the phone and via email and social media.
- To assist with the Campus Tour program and conduct campus tours.
- To design, plan and execute on “Discover Mauritius” programme in collaboration with Student Affairs Officers.
- To participate in PML open days and fairs disseminating information about PML and its programmes.
- To assist with mail-outs and other administrative duties in the department.
- To assist with online information sessions and call campaign programs.
- To conduct research and prepare statistics/other reports that are in line with the current trends in post-secondary recruitment.
- To maintain customer relationship management database.
- To input prospective student data into database
- To draft summary reports on a quarterly basis, generally upon recruitment of students
- To assist with the planning/development, organization, hosting and representing at on and off-campus recruitment events, such as, the campus tour program and open days
- To act as a back-up in order to provide reception duties within the Student Recruitment Office including answering the telephone and receiving campus visitors.
- To perform such other duties directly related to the main duties listed above or related to the delivery of the output and results expected from the Lecturer Multimedia in the roles ascribed to him/her.
