We are looking for an organized, experienced storekeeper who shall be responsible for managing all our outgoing and incoming stock, materials, spare parts and equipments.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Material Receiving and Inspection:
- Receive construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Verify delivery notes against purchase orders.
- Inspect materials for damage or discrepancies.
2. Inventory Control:
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels.
- Track usage and wastage of construction materials.
- Conduct regular stock audits and reconciliation.
3. Storage and Organization:
- Store materials safely and in an organized manner, considering factors like shelf life and fragility.
- Ensure materials are easily accessible for construction teams.
4. Issuing Materials to Site Teams:
- Issue materials and tools to workers as per site requirements.
- Maintain issue registers or digital logs.
5. Monitoring Material Usage:
- Monitor daily usage to avoid misuse, or overconsumption.
- Report unusual consumption patterns to site managers.
6. Coordination with Procurement:
- Notify procurement officers when stock is low.
- Assist in verifying material specifications during procurement.
7. Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure proper handling and storage of hazardous or flammable materials.
- Follow safety protocols and comply with construction site regulations.
8. Tool and Equipment Management:
- Keep track of tools issued to workers.
- Monitor tool condition and schedule repairs or replacements.
9. Reporting:
- Prepare daily, weekly, or monthly stock reports.
Qualifications and skills:
- HSC or equivalent is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word etc)
- A minimum 2 years’ work experience in storekeeping or inventory management
- Excellent organizational skills
- Detail oriented
- Clean certificate of character
- Ability to lift and move stock when needed
- Ability to following through on issues in a timely manner
- Able to work independently as well as a part of team
