A storekeeper, also known as a stock controller, plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and efficiency of a stockroom or warehouse. They are responsible for managing the inventory, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and fulfilling orders accurately and efficiently

 

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and delivery notes.
  • Unpack, label, and store incoming materials in designated locations.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, stock movements, and transactions using inventory management software.
  • Monitor stock levels and reorder supplies as needed to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare orders for delivery.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and logistics providers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical stock and system records.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and warehouse procedures.
  • Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free from hazards.
  • Assist with other warehouse tasks and duties as assigned.
