Duties and responsibilities for roles of a steward/cleaner:
Cleaning and Sanitizing:
- Clean and sanitize various areas such as kitchens, dining areas, restrooms, and public spaces.
- Use appropriate cleaning agents and equipment to maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
Dishwashing:
- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Operate dishwashing machines and ensure proper handling and storage of cleaned items.
Waste Management:
- Dispose of waste and garbage in a proper and environmentally friendly manner.
- Sort and recycle materials as per the designated guidelines.
Organization and Stocking:
- Maintain an organized and well-stocked inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Ensure that cleaning products are replenished as needed.
Supporting Kitchen Operations:
- Assist chefs and kitchen staff by cleaning and organizing kitchen workspaces.
- Ensure that all kitchen equipment is clean and ready for use.
Floor Maintenance:
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Address spills promptly to prevent accidents.
Compliance with Health and Safety Standards:
- Adhere to health and safety regulations in the workplace.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to maintain a cohesive and efficient work environment.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
Customer Service:
- Provide a clean and pleasant environment for customers or guests.
- Respond to customer requests or inquiries related to cleanliness.
Adaptability:
- Be flexible and willing to assist in various tasks as needed.
- Adapt to changes in the work environment or schedule.
Attention to Detail:
- Pay attention to small details to ensure thorough cleaning and maintenance.
- Identify and address cleanliness issues promptly.
Time Management:
- Prioritize tasks effectively to meet cleaning schedules and deadlines.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Report any malfunctioning cleaning equipment and assist in its maintenance.
