A kitchen steward is responsible for keeping the kitchen and adjacent facilities of the organization clean and hygienic.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Cleans stoves, ovens, grills, refrigerators, and using cleaning solutions, brushes and wash cloths
- Obtain the necessary cleaning supplies and equipment from the Stewarding Supervisor.
- Carry out responsibilities as specified, as well as check cleaning schedules and conduct appropriate tasks. Obtain the necessary cleaning supplies and equipment from the Stewarding Supervisor.
- Check equipment daily to ensure they are in good working condition and promptly report any defects/malfunctions to the Stewarding Supervisor or a senior person.
- Using a trolley/basket, transports food items such as meats, vegetables, fruits, and canned goods from the storage or freezer to the kitchen. Returns unused food to the refrigerator or freezer.
- May help set up barbecue equipment such as charcoal pits and food warmers. May assist with floral decorations
- To make compost, recycle all vegetable and fruit peelings, as well as eggshells.
- Garbage disposal in from outlets to main bin
