The United Basalt Products Ltd is seeking to recruit an assiduous Service Manager for its Engineering Department (Steelworks Department).
Key Responsibilities
- Operations Management:
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency.
- Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, processes, procedures and checklists
- Collaborate with leadership team to define long-term operational vision.
- Monitor and manage operations schedules and capacity planning.
- Optimize resource allocation and utilization.
- Establish KPIs and metrics to measure progress towards strategic objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure Fair and Smooth Operations of Department’s Activities
- Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of strategic initiatives.
- Implement and Align operational strategies with the organisation's overall strategic goals and objectives.
- Leadership, Team Development and HR:
- Lead and motivate the operations team.
- Management and Planning of Resources
- Set tasks, action plans, objectives, performance goals and conduct regular evaluations.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement where employees contribute ideas for service enhancements.
- Foster, Establish and nurture a culture where service excellence is a core value
- Recruit, hire, onboard and train qualified personnel as needed
- Manage employee relations and address HR issues
- Coach and Mentor team members, for proper operations of the department, ensuring engagement, discipline, and productivity among Workshop Teams
- Monitor workers presence and punctuality, and take necessary corrective actions when required.
- Promote plant safety and ensures compliance with all applicable safety standards and regulations which includes participating in departmental safety meetings, toolbox talks and any other related activities to assist in plant safety
- Financial Management:
- Develop and manage/monitor the operations budget / costs / P&L.
- Ensure financial performance aligns with organisational goals.
- Optimise resource allocation by identifying cost-saving opportunities waste reduction in operations.
- Reporting:
- Prepare comprehensive reports and dashboards as requested
- Track and update KPIs related to operations, partners and service excellence
- Liaise with the various stakeholders to provide adequate reports (Technical, Post-Mortems, etc)
- Engineering - Perform (as and when required) and ensure the followings are carried out:
- Carry out Surveys, Studies and Engineering Design, Technical Drawings, Layouts & BOQ (Structural, Equipment and Process)
- R&D and Technical Analysis, Reporting, Methodologies, Documentations and Recommendations
- Technical Inspection, Solutions and Assistance
- Problem solving through Root-Cause Analysis, and provide recommendations
- Works Management – Perform (as and when required) and ensure the followings are carried out:
- Analysis and Proposal of Recommendations based on Work’s/Client’s Needs
- Attend to Intervention for Implementation, Troubleshooting and Repair Works on Structural Steel, Metal and any other Mechanical Works
- Preparation and Management of Works Scope, Budget, and Schedule/Planning
- Planning, Assigning, Coordination, Supervision, and Tracking of Costs, Resources and Logistics for Works
- Prepare Progress Updates of Works
- Ensure QC is being done properly to achieve products reliability and quality
- Ensure Health & Safety Procedures are being followed according to Norms and Regulations
- Reporting of any Safety Issues and/or Accidents/Injuries
- Administrative Works and Leadership – Perform (as and when required) and ensure the followings are carried out:
- Open, Monitor and Closing of Jobs on ERP
- Ensure and Track for Proper Workshop Tools/Equipment Maintenance and Repairs
- Job and Resources Allocations and Posting
- Follow-up and Coordination of RFQ, Orders, Purchases, and Invoices/Claims
- Availability of parts at our Supply Chain
- Housekeeping in Workshop(s) and Site(s) after works (Incl. Tools/Equipment)
- Inventory and Follow-up of Tools and Materials Utilization
- Any Associated Cognate Duties
Candidate Profile- Sound knowledge of mechanical design, manufacturing, repair, maintenance and installation works
- Skills in AutoCAD will be an advantage
- Degree or Diploma in Machanical / Mechatronics or Electro-mechanics, and/or any relevant equivalent qualification
- At least 10 years’ experience, with 3 to 5 years of experience at management level
