NATEC Medical is a well-established company, specialising in the manufacturing of state-of-the-art Percutaneous Interventional Devices and Light Medical Engineering based in Mauritius. Vertically integrated, we design and manufacture angioplasty balloon catheters for interventional cardiology, radiology, gastroenterology and urology. 
Job Summary
For our production department, we are looking for a seasoned professional to oversee and direct the development, planning, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes and operations for new or existing products and technologies.  The Senior Manager would be responsible to select, develop and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the production group.
 
Job Details
Minimum requirements for the role:
  • AA in a technical field required; BA preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5-10 years of progressive production experience preferably in the medical device industry. 
  • Strong supervisory experience in a controlled production environment. 
  • 6sigma certification preferred. Knowledge of GMP, Lean manufacturing, JIT, ISO 9001, and project management skills. 
  • A working knowledge of all new processes and procedures relating to new products.  
  • Mechanical aptitude and TQM experience required and proficiency in MS Office spreadsheet software preferred. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Plan and organize all production activities.
  • Prepares documentation, reports and standard operating procedures as required. 
  • Ensures the effective use of materials, equipment and employees in producing quality products.  
  • May monitor and control labour and capital expenditures.  
  • May assist in developing production plan and budgets.  
  • Formulates and recommends manufacturing policies, procedures and programs.  
  • Lead daily and weekly Manufacturing meeting and generate monthly production report.
  • Implement transition of new product development to production, ensuring all training and build knowledge is complete for production. Guarantee adherence to both production and R& D build plans and interact with Logistic and Purchasing for scheduling and inventory purposes.
  • Assess manpower needs, develop training and capacity plans. 
  • Review and analyse equipment, tooling and production floor layouts for current and future needs. 
  • Interpret production needs and ensure that manufacturing systems meet those needs. Ensure manufacturing efficiency and optimization by monitoring cost, quality, yield, rejects and throughput. Perform cost analysis as appropriate. 
  • Works closely with quality groups to ensure strict compliance with good manufacturing practices guidelines at all times. 
  • Ensure compliance of the production group to the calibration, training and maintenance programs.
  • Well versed in lean methodology, visual management and 5S strategy.
  • Act as an ambassador of TQC (Total Quality Control).
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineers group to ensure proper work balance and optimized process flow to ensure maximum efficiency and throughput. 
  • Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports the Company Quality Policy, Quality System and the appropriate regulations for the area supported.
Salary package negotiable based on experience gained.
