The Senior Finance Officer role is to provide a high level of effective and efficient Accounts processes for businesses within a Shared Service Centre environment.

 

As our Senior Finance Officer, you will be responsible for more complex responsibilities than the Accounts Officer role and requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to ensure payments and query resolutions are consistently delivered to a high standard. The role will also be responsible for developing business relationships with the Operating Companies being supported and for coaching and supporting other members of the team


Your roles and responsibilities will involve (but will not be limited to) : 

Data Entries

  • Support the Head of Accounting Operations.
  • Perform AP related duties in accordance with the cyclical calendar for processing supplier invoices, employee related expense claims and third-party payments;
  • Respond to supplier account queries and resolve any invoice discrepancies in a professional manner;
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service to businesses and suppliers;
  • Manage payment of suppliers in accordance with payment terms;
  • Payment project follow up.
  • Prepare electronic funds transfers;
  • Produce monthly AP reconciliation reports and ensure these reconcile to supplier statements if required;
  • Assist with month end closing reports and reconciliations;
  • Regularly monitor the completeness and accuracy of supplier records and master files;
  • Identify and communicate with management opportunities for improvement in processes, workflow

Team Lead

  • Train new employees;
  • Support others in the resolution of complex matters;
  • Demonstrate and encourage a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration
  • Attend team and other meetings
  • Practice courteous assertiveness with all interactions
  • Demonstrate the behaviours expected from the team and customers
  • Provide strong emphasis on providing ‘needs based’ customer service
  • Escalate matters to management as appropriate
    Any other cognate duties as may be necessary in the circumstances and/or required by the employer.

Minimum education requirements

  • Higher School Certificate and partly ACCA qualified.

Minimum experience requirements

  • Above 1-year practical experience in a Finance or Accounting sector.

Candidate’s Profile

  • Knowledge of basic accounting and bookkeeping procedures.
  • Knowledge of related computer applications.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Good planning and organizing skills.
  • Able to work under Pressure.
  • Attention to details, and ability to be multi-task.
  • Cooperative and willing to assist others.
  • Good communication and coordination with colleagues.
