Engaged in the continuous supply of locally refined and packed edible oils as well as a range of quality food products, Mauritius Oil Refineries Ltd. The Company is looking for a self-motivated Sanitation Officer to join its Governance, Risk and Compliance Department.

JOB PURPOSE:

The Sanitation Officer is responsible to conduct all duties related to quality control and sanitation and reports directly to the Quality Manager.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Implement Sanitation Policies and Procedures;
• Conduct Quality Control Activities in different departments;
• Conduct Hygiene Inspections, assess cleaning and housekeeping performance and implement corrective actions;
• Conduct Fabrication Inspections and identity risks to the products from the building and equipment;
• Ensure Food Safety compliance is maintained;
• Monitor Pest Control Activities;
• Assist in Food Safety training programmes on good sanitation practices;
•  Approve Technical Specifications regarding cleaning materials, detergents, and food contact equipment;
• Assist in vegetable oils discharge from tankers, flexibags and other containers;
• Assist in screening of food products;
• Prepare and submit reports related to sanitation tasks.

SKILLS and ABILITIES

• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality;
• Excellent supervisory, organisational, and planning skills and ability to handle requests and queries;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Teams) ;
• Very good written and verbal communication skills both in French and English;
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
• Ability to work collaboratively with other stakeholders.

QUALIFICATION

• A bachelor’s degree in food science and Sanitation or a related field;
• Certificates/Licenses in respect of Food Safety and Hygiene;
• At 2 years proven work experience in a similar role;
• Holder of a valid car driving licence.

KNOWLEDGE

• Food Safety awareness studies;
• Be fully conversant with all health and safety and hygiene procedures and legislation.
