Job Description and Specification

  • Responsible for rooms assigned in a section by Coordinator, Supervisor and Head Housekeeper.
  • Cleaning and re-supplying the given number of guest rooms, including the bathrooms as per established procedure.
  • Ensure work equipment and cleaning materials are well maintained and cleaned on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for the room’s cleanliness and ensure a constant good maintenance.
  • Transport and sort dirty linen.
  • Restock linen and cleaning products.
  • Inform Head of Department of guest complaints/comments and partner with management in solving guest issues or expectations.
  • Notify issues call reception, supervisor and order taker of any room missing items/linen upon guest departure.
  • Correct daily hand-over at the end of the shift to the laundry supervisor.
  • Draw up and remove additional beds/cots with care and set up the room as per guest request.
  • Follow the schedule of "deep cleaning" and/or "special tasks", set up by the laundry supervisor.
  • Report technical defects & repairs to the order taker and Supervisor and ensure a good follow up.
  • Fill in worksheet related to time in and out of the areas cleaned where appropriate.
  • Inform supervisor immediately in case of theft or damage of any furniture and equipment in rooms assigned.
  • Ensure that found objects ( departure ) are reported immediately to Head of Department and given to the Order Taker.
  • Responsible for his/her key.
  • Carry out inventories as when required.
  • Verify any guest preference on the board at beginning of shift.
  • Abide to safety instructions when operating the machines and equipment.
  • Inform the Room Service of any clear away (rooms or corridors).
  • Anticipate guest expectation (developing a meticulous eye for detail).
  • Perform any cognate duty assigned by the head of department.
  • Need to attend training sessions.
